Quick Bean

Deb: Good day, everyone, we wanted to post Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's debut as a Bond Girl at the opening ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympic games, but it has disappeared in its original form. Instead, please enjoy Mr. Bean’s star turn in the London Symphony Orchestra.

  1. I saw this!!! I thought it was rather amusing and kind of strange for the opening ceremony. However I did thoroughly enjoy it :]

  2. Mr Bean rocks!!! I watched the whole of the opening ceremony with my children, and they loved this bit the most! It was a great show, though. So proud to be British. :)

  5. Mr. Bean cracks me up, but Blackadder will always be the ultimate Rowan Atkinson! Blackadder III is my favorite.

Here's a link to Queen, Bond, & Corgis:

I love that she has the sense of humor to play along with this sort of thing! :) But, the corgis stole the show!

p.s. Does anyone else remember Atkinson as Raymond on Thin Blue Line? That show was good silly fun.

  7. Big fan of Rowan Atkinson and Mr. Bean. My kids all love him and yesterday he was my 4 year old's choice of TV shows to watch. Thanks for sharing this. I haven't taken the time to watch the opening ceremony yet, so this was really great fun.

  8. I'm not even entirely familiar with Mr. Bean (I know him more as Johnny English) but this was by far one of my favorite moments of the Opening Ceremony!

  11. i watched this in my dads room in hospital with the nurses on duty coming in and out so they could watch a bit of it too . none of us minded as all dads nurses are lovely .

Rowan Atkinson is hilarious . i love Blackadder . series 3 and 4 especially as it has the bonus of the brilliant acting of Hugh Laurie as well . house fans would get a surprise though as seeing him play the role of an out and out idiot !

this piece of music has an Olympic connection . is the theme from the 1981 film chariots of fire composed by Greek composer Vangelis . the film is loosely based on the story of 2 British athletes in the 1924 Olympics , Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams more information here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chariots_of_Fire

by the way did anyone else see Mike Oldfield play during the tribute to great ormond street hospital section of the ceremony . i love his music . he played about 4 songs . the opening section of tubular bells 1 , sentinel ( opening section of tubular bells 2 , far above the clouds ( end section of tubular bells 3 ) and in dulci jubilo . he is an amazing musician and his part of the ceremony is well worth looking up .
