Arthur's Inspirational Transformation

Barbara: So I spent the WHOLE DAY at the hospital yesterday for Michele's tonsillectomy. Thank you all for your loving and lovely thoughts for her. She is doing great (as can be expected)! But anything medical in nature does remind you of our potential fragility. So it was nice when I finally got home and got to zone out to the gentle murmuring of Facebook affirmations. And I found this inspiring treasure.

Disabled Gulf War vet Arthur Boorman shares his personal odds-defying transformation. It is so so sweet and inspiring!

  1. I saw this the other day too, truly inspiring!! It is incredible how strong the human spirit is. Everyone had given up on him, except one man. To see him stumbling and continuing was heartbreaking, but such a strong message. The transformation is astounding. We can do anything if we want it badly enough. :)
Barb I am so glad Michele is recovering well and that day is now behind you. YAY!!

    1. I know, Becki. We cried too when we saw it. But I think that comes from our cathartic realization that we can change the crap in our lives for the better. I'm thinking of your mom and sending her lots of well-wishes!

    4. Thanks guys...*hugs*

I think you can change a lot of things....well not all (because sometimes what a body can do is limited).

That's what I found out, when I started to learn the splits...and the handstand, and the bridge, and whatever...I just tried and tried, and never gave up...

Oh...and Barbara: hope your daughter has a fast recovery!

  10. Thank you for such an inspiring stories I love when things turn around for people and they find that happiness and peace within themselves. I wish I had his determination to lose weight but I am presently too much of an emotional eater and not proud of it either.

Barb - glad to hear Michele is home and doing well. I remember when my daughter had surgery on her hand I was in the waiting room by myself. The doctor told me it would be about a forty minute surgery and going on two hours I still had no word I was terrified. Thankfully everything turned out all right but the waiting was torture because that's your baby in there.

    Have a peaceful evening all!

    1. Oh my god, Mary, how scary is that???! Yeah, that would've freaked me out. Thank god, the doc showed up right on schedule. Either way , it is daunting to know your child is in surgery

  11. That is FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. WOW!!!! For the last 2 years, nobody can tell me why my ankle still hurts. I have just accepted that it is the way it is.

    Not anymore.

I'm not giving up. SOMEBODY will hear me! This author gives me hope! Glad to hear Michele is ok! :]
