Nothing To Give

Deb: Hello friends,
I spent the day trying to formulate something, anything to say for today’s post. I can’t. I wanted to do a tribute to Paul and I will, but not now. His memory consumes every moment for us. The pain felt by his wife, our dear friend, and his children are constantly with us. As I tried to pull something together I realized simply, that there is no more room in my brain or my heart. So thank you, all of you, for your understanding and wishes. His funeral is on Saturday. We gather at 11 and the service is at 1pm Toronto time. If you can, if you would, please take a moment during that day and send strength and peace to all of us, but especially to his family. They will surely need it. In the near future I will post something about Paul with scenes from his work. You will begin to understand what a loss this is. I feel supported by all of you incredible people. Thank you, one and all. Love each other, support each other. Go places. Do things. Say I love you to those you love.

With love and thanks, Deb

  1. Not surprising Deb, what an incredible shock for all of you who loved, worked and laughed with him. The shock is too great. I am glad you gave us a time on Saturday, I am sure all your friends here will send you and everyone involved in the funeral strong and peaceful vibes at 1 o'clock. You and your family be good to each other and stay close.....you will pass your strength and love on to Linda and her girls. I am incredibly sorry for this great loss in your lives. Big hug to you all ((((()))))

  2. Strength and love beaming to everyone saying goodbye on Saturday. Funerals can be so beautiful when it is a celebration of a life truly well lived- your dear friend sounds like he certainly lived his life to the full with wonderful friends and family surrounding him. xo

Lots of love to Linda and her girls... they have you guys standing by them, making them feel warm and loved in this tough time. I swear if I were there I would definitely attend the funeral. But even though I'm here, My hearts gonna be there thinking of him and all of you...sending love and light and hope! and I'll try to meditate the same time to send peaceful vibes and strength to you all....You guys Hold it together. Hugs to you and Colin. You guys have been so strong! I am so so sorry for the loss....But Keep him in your happy memories, your laughs and smiles and most cherished moments. I'm sure he wants to be remembered as someone who made you laughed your asses off...rather than someone who made you sob.

  7. I'll be thinking of you and those who loved him. The day you say goodbye to someone you loved is awfully hard. I'm saying goodbye to a dear friend today and I had no idea how hard it would hit me until I woke up this morning.

  15. Deb, I am so sorry to hear about this. I was a little lost when I read the previous blog, so I did a little searching with some of the things you and the others said about this person named Paul having worked on Getting Along Famously. When I found the news on the net of who it was, I was saddened. I loved his character on the show. I don't have much to say since I am not good at times like these, but I just want to let you now that my thoughts and prayers are with his family and you all. May the Lord provide strength and comfort to you all.

  16. Sometimes, when you've said all you have to say, there's nothing left. I will leave with a quote from one of my favorite shows:

"When you do everything you can, sometimes more than you thought you could, you've got to walk away knowing you fought the good fight. You fought the good fight. And tomorrow you'll fight another one."

  19. I am attending a One Human Family gospel choir workshop in Saskatoon this weekend and that's where I'll be tomorrow while you are at Paul's funeral. When the many voices sing out together all these beautiful melodies rendered in baritone, tenor, alto and soprano--oh the sound!-- and my heart is so joyously moved by the beauty of it, I will remember you and send deep strength to your heart across the miles.

  20. I am new to your blog. It really is a small world. My daughter received a call from her friend, Laura. It sounded like one of those bad news phone calls. And so it was. Laura's uncle died in an auto accident. His name is Paul. Same Paul. How tragic. Condolences to all who knew and loved him.
