  1. Wow!! these are really classic, wonderful family pictures!! I love the one of your parents' friends, it looks like it's out of a movie. Deb! Your eyes are incredible!! They say eyes are windows to the soul..... no wonder you produce diamonds, have such a great energy & people and animals are so drawn to you.....you have a beautiful soul. What a gift you are giving your family with the "Cousin's Project" !

I also remember highchairs with that metal bar (we are the same age LOL) xo

  2. I'm loving this project you are working on. The pictures of you and your family are so sweet. It's funny, but I've started something similar. I realized that 20 years ago last month, I went with my grandmother to Scotland to meet the cousins there. Gran is our last real connection to the family in Scotland. I've decided I need to make contact and keep in touch with them. I'm sharing family history info and photos with one of the cousins there. Technology is great!

    3. I have to say that, from the photos of your son that I have seen before, he looks like 50% you and 50% Colin. Literally. I have never seen anyone that actually looked like both parents equally. I look like my mother (thank God!).

    4. Steph it's funny you should say that because most people do. He looked very much like me as a baby but I agree that it is fifty fifty now. Thanks.

The photo that I have is a photo of when we were little,in the photo we were sitting on my great grandmothers front porch and you could not tell us apart. We looked like twins,of corse they say everyone has a twin. Love memories like that . My grandfather always said "you can have everything taken away from you,but memories like these last a life times".. Very true I believe

  6. I had a bouncy seat like yours as well back in 1948-49. If you only had saved some of these items you'd be rich on ebay. :) Love looking at all of your photos. How fun this project must be. Everyday a new surprise.

  7. Lovely photos! This project is a fantastic idea.
On a sad note, I got a call last night. One of the women that helped take care of my grandmother when she was still living at home with me and my mother has passed away. I still do not know the details, only that she passed earlier this week. It was a shock. She was only 29. Please keep her and her family and friends in your prayers and thoughts today.

    2. Thanks, Deb. I forgot to mention that she was a former Marine. She served in Iraq, I believe.

  8. Love them all! Isn't it amazing how pictures can so well connect us all to the past, regardless or whether they are ours or someone else's. I suppose pictures somehow make the idea of a person or place a tangible thing. Your family seems to be very happy looking people in general, those all seem to be real smiles not just smile for the camera smiles.

That first picture reminded me so much of my families cabin. In the old days the road didn't quite make it to the cabin and so we went through a pasture which had this same type of gate. I remember climbing on it only too well and I know we have pictures of me and my cousins hanging off it.

  9. Erin I am glad that these pictures brought up old memories for you too! That is the idea. And we were a very happy family always laughing, joking smiling. Nice.
