Connection

Deb: This moved me so much. So much. So deep? So many questions. What I wouldn't give to be a horse whisperer and talk to these two horses.

  1. Oh this is so sad Deb....those beautiful majestic trees! Clearly this horses were very upset and sad, even mad. Incredible that they came by and gave their opinion. So spiritual.....

    1. You would make a great horse whisperer Deb. Everyone has it in them if the use the right side of their brain.

  2. Goosebumps. The moment I saw those wild horses. Soo Free and So Magnificent yet sooo emotional connected. Cant you just feel the concern in their eyes. I loved the part with one of the horses went to that white horse and touched its head as if trying to ask for help. Trying to see if it understands the deep emotion. Its all telepathic. Wonderful. After feeling those horses.... dont you just realize that animals are Wiser and Soooo full of love! The feeling is mutual Deb! I would give ANYTHING to be a horse whisperer to talk to those horses. Better said, FEEL them.

    Horses are beautiful.
    So are trees.

  4. Loved this. I have heard so much about how horses can whisper to us and heal us.

  5. Wow. These people are potentially harming their habitat and yet, these beautiful horses still find a way to reach out to them. One of the many, many reasons I love animals...we could all learn something from them.

  6. i wonder was this shot during the building of the Newbury by pass in 1996 or so . as i recall there was a large protest by supporters of environmental groups . i recall them being shown on the BBC news . the road sadly was built and many trees cut down . the oaks take years and years to get to that size .

the horses in this film are amazing , as was the whole film . when one of the wild horses put his face up to that of the white police horse i was nearly in tears . like deb said i would love to be a horse whisperer and work out what the 2 horses were trying to communicate .

  7. I know Linda, this is what killed me. They were trying so hard to communicate. Incredible.

  8. This is very moving to me, as well. Living in Montana, i am around horses all the time. In fact, the Horse Whisperer was filmed nearby. There is no question in my mind that they are deeply soulful and sensitive creatures.

  9. They mentioned that these trees were dead. But not sure if that was because they wanted the road or they were really dead. Either way sad.

  10. Two of my all time favorite beings on this world. Trees and horses. Its the connection between the two that blew me away in this clip. I know what the wild horse was saying to the police horse ; "Traitor!". Not only is it sad that we humans can not connect with animals but that we are so disconnected from our environment that we fail to see how important the natual environment is to our physical being. There was a day, not long ago in the UK that roads would be routed around trees rather than cut them down. How magical. How beautiful. How sad.

  11. This video kind of killed a piece of me inside...
I'm not really sure if I made it clear before, but I am an avid tree, nature, and animal lover. Seeing such a large beautiful tree- Which has been home/shelter to bugs and animals-be ruthlessly cut down to make room for roads...just killed me. I loved how the wild horses appeared to show their concerns/last respects...I just wish that animals voices could be heard. I'd say that these horses came as close to expressing how they felt without actually using words...

  12. Deb,
First of all I would just like to say that this clip moved me more than I thought a small clip could. I could feel the horses pain as the tree fell, I hurt for them. I loved this small clip and so did everyone that I showed it to. Second of all I would just like to thank you for everything you and Barbara have done with this blog. I just found your blog recently but as I sit and read all and I do mean all of your post I realized one thing, even though I may be a young lady I have learned so much from you stories. When I needed a laugh you provided me with a laugh, when I was sad, mad or angry you gave me advice. So thank you.
Now this last part of my comment may not make any sense but if I was ever down your husband the great Colin Mochrie also helped me smile.
So all I guess I wanted to say was thank you for every thing you have done and can't wait to hear what you have to say tomorrow the next day and forever. Thank You!!
    Tara

  13. Like the rest of you, this video moved me so much. I think someone mentions above that the trees might be dead -- but my understanding is that they are in the way of a highway and need to be moved to make way.

Tara, thanks soooo much for sharing your lovely spirit with us here -- Deb is at work all day today, but I'll try and make sure to get these comments to her! We welcome you and are thrilled you found us. xo

  14. So beautiful and yet so sad, reminds me of the line from a song, we pave paradise to put up a parking lot! Progress is not always a good thing, more often it's about greed and with no concern over who suffers. When I was a child a man we called Tex worked on our horse farm as a trainer. I think he was a horse whisperer before the term was invented. He said to me, "Look into a horse's eyes and you will see your own soul looking back at you." Try it sometime if you get the chance they understand far mor than we do.
