Carpenter Christmas
Deb: My Christmas message for today. This gorgous song from
a beautiful and talented woman who did not trust her mirror or her heart.
Hearing her voice was a turning point for me in my life. I wish she had known
how many of us felt that way. The Carpenter's songs still helps represent
Christmas to me.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell ya something....I am kind of a digital painter...I paint on Photoshop.. i actually mentioned it on the last post :D....I am not a pro...but i am good at recreating the references i get.....And i really really wanna paint a picture of you guys.... i am searching for the right picture of you two... they are all so great... i cannot decide :D
I was gonna paint Colin's pic for his birthday but i was really busy the last week of november... and then well couldnt.... after my exams il start painting...!!!!!! I'll try my best....Hope you guys will like it !!!! :P
I remember her and her disease was in a day when they didn't have all the tools they do now. Very sad.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful song. I'm a huge Carpenters fan. I started listening to my Mom's LPs when I was around 11 or 12. A lot of her songs are right in my voice range and I love to sing along with her. I couldn't even begin to pick a favorite song of hers, but I love Rainbow Connection and Let Me Be the One.

ReplyDeleteThe most famous one Holly is called "We've only just begun" and was sung at more weddings than I care to count. Stunning song. They also did "Superstar" as in "don't you remember you told me you loved me baby, said you'd be coming back some day again maybe" Wonderful song. Bette Midler covered it and won a Grammy I believe. Google Carpenter's greatest hits and you are sure to get a treat. For me, her voice is up there with K.D.Lang for it's melodic seduction. Love.Her.
