Barbara: No, we shouldn’t eat it. Ever. But when we do, or

ReplyDeleteHamburgers
Dark chocolate
Macaroni and cheese
Nachos with guacamole
Yeah, I'm a dark chocolate fan too -- although I do NOT consider it junk food :)
DeleteIt's so hard to define junk food! I consider dark chocolate an indulgence. And Deb, I forgot about fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies. I don't consider guacamole junk food either, but I needed five things, right?

Delete(you know I'm teasing you, right) (except the part about that stuff not being junk food: t'would be too depressing!)
Deletehaha! Ofcourse I do!!! I know!! :D
DeleteI agree with Barb. Curry isn't junk food. I love me a nice homemade curry - Indian or Thai.

p.s. Deb! Macaroni and cheese isn't junk food! At least, it had better not be.:) It's my favorite food and has been since I was a toddler! :)
I love Rice Krispie squares, but ONLY the ones you make yourself. None of that pre-made store-bought stuff, which takes all the fun out of it.

DeleteWHYYY did #2 freak out like that? O.o
Ooh, I like Pringles Dill pickle chips on tuna sandwiches. They're a bit too harsh on their own, because I can never eat just one.
DeleteHilarious how #2 went all wonky!! It makes quite an impression though, doesn't it?
Delete1) Krispy Kreme doughnuts
ReplyDelete2) Porch Pie (if you haven’t YOU MUST http://porchpies.com/)
3) Hershey Kisses
4) Cotton candy
5) Smore's from Trader Joe's
OOHHH MYYYYYY!
xooxxo Seana
Oh, damn. I shouldn't have checked that website. Kitchen sink pie? Oh, kill me now. What's your favorite?
DeleteI think Krispy Kreme are the ultimate sugar-glazed doughnut, aren't they? We only got them here a few years ago and I had a sample, but have never seen a store (which is a good thing). But ohhhh my.
DeleteWe had Krispy Kreme here for a while, but they didn't last. I think it was because of their coffee. We have Dunkin Donuts, which is a legend up here. If we were stopping for coffee anyway, it was just easier to get a dozen donuts at the same time. The drive-thru aspect of DD is also appealing. Watching the KK's going on that roller thingy kept my daughter busy for a few minutes, though. :)
DeletePeaches & Cream is my all time favorite Pie. However They are ALL THE MOST AMZING pies you will sink your teeth into!! And i dont even LIKE PIE! I dont eat it ever.. unless its Porch Pie!
DeleteAnd Barb, be grateful you dont have a Krispy Kreme near you! We have one next to our MAILBOX PLACE!!! UUGGHHH so i make Bradley get the mail. I have ZERO willpower...and most of the time he brings me one ;)
xoxo
Seana
KRISPY KREME!!!! My mouth is watering, now! Mmmmmmm!!!
Deletecutest visual, Seana!
DeleteUUGGHHHHH.... so Bradley is out of town, and one of my gal pals called me for a lunch "foodie~call". The place she picked to eat just so happened to be right next to our mailbox place. So like a good wife, i stopped in to pick up our mail. On my way out OF KRISPY KREMESSSS i was cursing you both!! Yes, you too Deb! Although this was Barbs post, you are her partner in crime after all.
DeleteYou see, i dont just buy one. Oh noooo. I buy one for the ride home, one for the morning, and another for "just incase"!
A few moments ago, as i was eating my "just in case", i thought you should know i cursed you both again! And this is WHY i dont get the mail!!!! :)
Hi my name is Seana, and i ate THREE KRISPY KREMEs today.
I wondered how many of you would be cursing me today!!! 3 is about my go-to average. That's why I need to STAY AWAY. (but really really jealous right now...)

I LOVE BUGLES! The salt kills me now, and that's saying a lot.
And popcorn!! Mmm, yeah. But real butter, right?
DeleteNo, margarine. I only have butter in restaurants with the basket of bread they bring us. :)
DeleteMargarined popcorn sounds silly.
DeleteYes, Dawn, it does.

ReplyDeleteSO worth the stickiness!
DeleteOh, yes!!!
DeleteAh mean junk food... I try to avoid it most of the time...

2. pizza (only with ham, mushrooms and cheese)
3. Döner (Does this exist where you live?
4. ice cream
5. Schokokuss (like whipped cream with some cookie and chocolate topping? the Danish are the best!)
DOUBLE CHOCOLATE DONUT!! OFCOURSE!
DeleteIs Doner (how do you type an umlaut?) a kebab-type thing, or is it something else? (I don't trust google.)
DeleteGood to hear you try to avoid it. Still, it's an awesome list :)
DeleteOk I'm gonna make this easy...I wanna eat every street food they serve here...pani puris, bhel etc etc. and everything they showed on Man v. Food, Eat st. and planet food.

5) french fries, covered in curry sauce + mayonnaise, topped with pieces of raw onion. Yes please!
I've never heard of that combination of fries and ingredients. I like steak fries with blue cheese dressing.
DeleteI also call it a jelly donut.
Chocolate means the same in any culture. :)
Nor have I (heard of that combo) -- sounds intriguing (although I'm usually a fries/chips purist) (reminds me of one of my husband's favourite junk foods: poutine! Fries smothered in cheese curds and gravy. Eat at your own risk!)
DeleteOh, this is dangerous....
ReplyDelete1. blizzards from Dairy Queen. ANY.
2. Bugles. Could eat a whole bag of those.
3. Cool Ranch Doritos. AAAAHHHHH
4. McDonald's french fries. Yum.
5. Chocolate, of any shape, size, or form. I'm partial to Snickers. :)
Yes, dangerous -- see Seana's comment above!! (Snickers was my Halloween treats steal)
Deletemm junk food lets see
ReplyDelete1: any Eddie Rockets burgers . Eddie Rockets is a chain of american style diners they have around Dublin . i love their burgers . they are huge !
2: Lindt or O Breins milk or white chocolate very expensive but very delicious. o briens also do lush hot chocolate .
3: i agree with Dawn Oreos are lush . yes they have made their way to Ireland . Eddie Rockets do a tasty Oreo cookie milkshake with cream on top and a oreo cookie in the cream ( FYI we call them biscuits over here)
4: mc cains spiced oven cooked potato wedges . well i am Irish i have to have spuds in somewhere !
5: marks and Spencer tea cakes . i am sure you have a different variety of these in America and Canada they are marshmallow on a biscuit ( or cookie if you prefare) base covered in chocolate .
Oh, I remember those "tea cakes" from when I was a kid - I mean, not the same brand, but something like that. I LOVED those!
DeleteI seriously tried to make a list...but after seeing what everyone else wrote and what i like, i have come to the conclusion that i like way to many different types of junk food to list them off from 1-5 :/
ReplyDeleteI don't even think i could name my favorite #1...it's either mint ice cream/milkshake or strawberry milkshake...with whip cream...and a cherry on top :)
Hilarious! As it turned out we corrupted several of our readers to go out and seek junk food. I guess it's one of the dangers of this biz ;)
Delete1) Indian sweets. Sweetened with condensed milk instead of sugar.
Delete2) Dulche de leche (same idea).
3) Pecan, apple, or pumpkin pie with whipped cream. (Creme fraiche with anything).
4) Chocolate covered raisins, almonds, peanuts, or Junior Mints, or Crispy Crunch & Crunchie bars.

Mmm. I remember the first time I had dulce de leche - snadwiched between 2 cookies, Peruvian style. Oh wow.
