Deb Skates Again!

Deb: It was to my delight that I found myself all alone on one of my regular rinks this week. Jazz playing in the background and the feel of the ice on my blades. I. Am. Canadian.

PS This is the Shop at Don Mills.

    1. I am doing Dad's exercises with him, meeting my cousin for lunch and then I am off today to skate! And...I am going to skate at the rink at Harbourfront, right on the lake. I will be bundled up for sure! I go to the one across from the Rosedale station, a few in our neighbourhood and Saturday I will try the Brickworks one which I checked out a few days ago. I have also done a few spectacular ones in the west end including the one beside humber college. LOVE IT!

  2. YOU'VE GOT A PENGUIN HELMET!?!?!?! Awwwwwww...Werent you CUTE ENOUGH????? Now I gotta invent a new word for you!!!!!!! :D LIFE IS GOOD! I know the feeling it must feel sooo awesome to skate in such cold weather. I remember I was in a hotel once and the climate was (not so cold for you lot) 10-12 degrees maybe and it was raining. And I was in that icecold pool!! FELT AAMMMMMAZING!!! Also loved eating snowcones.....in that weather. Talk about being weird! :D

Skating.....Ahhh something I'll really enjoy. But...I'll need training. Will you teach me??? I wont fall on you I swear.

  3. I do have a penquin helmet! In fairness, it is a normal helmet with a penquin cover that I purchased. Skating is great. Lots of places to learn here!!!

  7. Both my kids took ice skating lessons at Harbourfront. Hot chocolate and snacks from the Cafe after...truly Canadian exercise. Used to love those wintery nights under the stars watching them learn a new skill. Boy...seems like yesterday but there's been many a deep freeze since then...Glad you are getting a chance to twirl around on a glassy surface my friend. That what doesn't cause frostbite restores...or something like that! :)

Life IS good, Deb! And you're in it, with pride and pimp safety hat. Inspiring indeed, xo.

(in response to your question from yesterday, Colin's show will be at the Vogue Theatre on Granville (downtown), steps from my place! I'll be eighth row centre, ready to adore him :)

  15. I am not Canadian. I like indoor rinks. That one would be tempting, though, because it was empty. I don't worry about falling, but I worry about crashes.

  16. It is to my delight as well! What I love most is the sound of the blades on the ice.
