The Great Message

Barbara: Mary shared this with Deb and I the other day, and we so loved it I had to share it here today. Yes, this is the great Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator, re-edited to great modern footage, but bearing the same great and meaningful message. As apropos today as it was back in 1940.

    2. Aww thank you Shalaka but the real thanks goes to Deb and Barb for creating this safe haven for those of us looking to share what's in our hearts! I thank them for the gift of knowing we are accepted unconditionally and without judgment. If only the real world out there was like that. We can only hope and strive

    3. Aww Yes!!! Our Angels they are! We all thank them for everything they do (LOVE YOU DEB AND BARB!xo)
Yeah. Ya know I used to think that too. But I think the real world is the way we picture it to be. The moment I decided to believe "There are a lotta people out there who are just examples of unconditional love". I THAT LOT STARTED ENTERING MY LIFE! We can always hope.....and EXPECT, I SAY!
      (Sorry, Peptalk just...FLOOOWWWWWS through me!)

  7. Very inspiring indeed! I must say that this reminds me of the Iron Sky. Never mind that, it is good to find that some messages are still strong after many years. Still a bit sad to realize that we have not changed enough (because we still need messages like this to remind ourselves).

  8. An amazing speech. So moving and thought-provoking. It really makes you realize that, although we are all human, we are not all humane. Thanks for sharing this.

  9. Wow. OK. Whoa. That knocked me on my butt. Had to breathe for a few seconds before starting to comment. Wow.

And, on a much lighter note, someone finally posted Colin on Craig Ferguson's show on YouTube. I watched it earlier this afternoon. Awwwwwww! Such a silly, adorable sweetie!

    2. Yes, I watched it too! Colin's always so adorable. But surely he must hate going on Talk shows, being a naturally shy person. I know that would be my version of hell!

Also, Deb? My husband's family originally came from Aberdeen, too. :D

    7. Yes, Rigel, I too "SQUEEEEEE" when he was talking about Deb and Luke. It was a great interview. Loved the story of having to friend Ryan's daughter on FB just to get in contact with Ryan!

I keep finding Canadian info on his book. But, no US distribution, yet. GAH! International shipping is a big UGH.

    1. Really? Cause I've ordered stuff before from the Canadian Amazon and the British Amazon, and shipping wasn't really any more expensive than it is for the U.S. version. Odd...

    2. I can't get free Super Saver shipping on orders over $25 if international.

  16. As someone interested in current affairs, I find this ridiculously appropriate with regard to the global financial situation. Greed has driven men to become economic dictators who stifle economic freedom, whether it's thru manipulating interest rates which leave millions of lives wrecked, betting on people failing to repay mortgages or ignoring financial rules. And the interesting thing is this happens multiple times in each generation. and every time the corrupt system falls a similar system builds back up. Shows me that either we do not learn from our mistakes, or the common man has no control over such matters. I'm inclined to think it's a bit of both-The Newbie

    1. I so agree! Terrible how greed rules so many decisions "we" make. So sad.
